Get care and advice from home
To reduce potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus, WFMC Health now offers telemedicine to you and your family. From your smartphone or computer, you can see and hear us. Your provider will answer questions about your health and direct your care. We’re here to provide you with exceptional healthcare while you stay home and stay safe.
What is telemedicine?
Telemedicine is an online, virtual visit with your provider from the comfort of your home. Telemedicine uses video cameras and monitors in our clinic to connect to you through your phone or computer. You will be able to see, hear and talk to your provider about yourself and your family’s health.
How does a telemedicine visit work?
A telemedicine visit is like a regular appointment. You’ll download the software first (see below). Once you’re connected, you will see yourself and your medical team on the screen. Your provider and medical assistant will ask questions about your health and develop a plan of care. You will receive the same quality of care as you would during a normal face-to-face visit in our clinic.
Are telemedicine visits private?
Yes. Our telemedicine platforms, Microsoft Teams and Zoom for Healthcare, are HIPAA compliant. Your telemedicine visit will be private and confidential. What you say during your visit can only be seen and heard by you and your medical team. Any forms filled out during the visit will be shared only with your medical team to be recorded into your medical chart.
How do I schedule a telemedicine visit?
If you already have a scheduled appointment or you want to schedule one, please call 503.585.6388; or use the chat feature on our website (MedChat); or your Patient Portal email to contact us. We’ll talk with you to decide if getting care and advice from home, via telemedicine, is right for your situation.
What does it cost?
Virtual visits are billed to your insurance just like your clinic appointments. For patients with private insurance, we will let you know before your appointment if there is a co-pay. You can pay your co-pay through our website.

Tips for a successful telemedicine visit
- Use a location that is quiet and private
- If you are using a phone or tablet for your visit, find a place where you can hold your device steady or prop it up, the lighting is good, and the doctor can see you clearly.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get ready in case you need to fix any technology issues.
- Join the telemedicine visit at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. That will give you enough time to fill out the forms we provided during the check-in process
Please be patient with this technology
