WFMC Health offers sports physicals for your children, grades 7-12. Oregon law says students need a physical exam every two years. The best time for your child to get their physical is during the summer before school starts. For more information from the Salem-Keizer school district, visit http://www.salkeiz.k12.or.us/content/athletic-participation-and-student-fees.
At WFMC Health, we want to make sure your child is comfortable and respected.
Our caring staff will put your child first during their physical. They may offer advice for avoiding injuries or other problems while playing sports. Any questions or concerns from you and your child will be taken seriously.
When your child comes in for a sports physical, they can expect questions about personal and family medical history. Our providers might ask about allergies, past injuries, or serious illnesses in the family. Try to answer these questions as well as you can. Your answers will help our team get an idea of possible conditions your child may have or develop during the season.
Sports physicals also include a physical exam, which may include measuring your child’s height and weight, taking blood pressure, testing eyesight, and checking the heart, lungs, ears, nose, and throat.
